We analyzed Duomo users' activity and found that 91% of those who regularly returned to the app over four weeks continued using it afterward.
At Duomo, we help people make time for Bible study, prayer, and personal reflection. But what matters to us is not only how people begin their journey, but also whether they continue practicing over time.
That's why we wanted to understand how consistency relates to whether users return to Duomo after their first four weeks.
To find out, we analyzed the activity of more than 127,000 users who joined the app between April and August 2026.
The result: 91% of users who opened Duomo on at least two days every week during their first four weeks continued using the app in week five.
How Consistency Relates to Continued Engagement
We grouped users by the number of weeks in which they opened Duomo on at least two different days.
The results revealed a clear difference:
| Weeks with regular visits | Continued using Duomo |
|---|---|
| 1 week | 18.1% |
| 2 weeks | 37.5% |
| 3 weeks | 61.1% |
| 4 weeks | 91.0% |
The more weeks users regularly returned to the app, the more likely they were to remain active after the fourth week.
The difference was especially noticeable between three and four weeks of regular visits — nearly 30 percentage points.
It's Not Just About Visits, but Completed Lessons
We also checked whether the same pattern appeared when measuring consistency through completed lessons rather than app visits.
Among users who completed at least one lesson every week for four weeks, 90.7% continued using Duomo in week five.
And 79% of these users completed at least one lesson in week five as well.
This suggests that a similar pattern appears not only among those who regularly open the app, but also among those who consistently complete lessons.
What Happens Further Down the Road?
We also looked at a longer period to understand whether users remained active beyond their first four weeks.
Among regular users with ten weeks of available activity history:
- 77.8% were still active in week six.
- 66.3% were active in week eight.
- 54.8% were active in week ten.
For comparison, among users who did not meet the regularity criteria but were still active in week four, 21.3% continued using Duomo in week ten.
This shows that the difference was visible not only immediately after the first four weeks, but also later on.
How We Conducted the Study
To put these results into context, here's what we measured and how we compared users.
Who we studied: We analyzed anonymized and aggregated data from 127,665 users who first joined Duomo between April and August 2026 and completed at least one lesson during their first 28 days.
Who we considered regular users: Those who opened Duomo on at least two different days in each of their first four weeks. A total of 22,432 users met this criterion.
How we measured the results: We checked whether users showed any activity in week five — days 29–35 after they first started using the app. Among regular users, 91% were active during this period.
How we checked the findings: We compared results across five monthly groups, from April through August 2026. In each group, between 89.8% and 92.2% of regular users continued using the app.
What the numbers mean: The 91% figure represents the share of regular users who continued using Duomo after their first four weeks. The study shows a consistent relationship between regular engagement and continued app activity. Individual experiences may vary.
When Faith Becomes Part of Everyday Life
Our study found that most users who regularly returned to Duomo throughout their first four weeks continued using the app afterward.
We created Duomo to help people make room for God's Word, prayer, and reflection in their everyday lives — not just during their first days with the app, but as they continue their journey.
